Breeze Just Added New Routes Between Florida and Illinois — and Fares Start at $49

It’s the first time the low-cost airline will fly to Illinois.

Breeze Airways is continuing to expand with brand-new flights to Illinois, marking the first time the low-cost airline will fly to the state.

The flights will connect Springfield, Illinois, with both Orlando and Tampa and be flown twice a week, the airline . Flights between Illinois and Orlando will launch on Dec. 1, while flights between Illinois and Tampa will launch on Dec. 4.

The flights will operate on the airline’s Airbus A220-300 aircraft, which includes the carrier’s “Nicest” fare option and its newest product, Breeze Ascent. (The latter comes with checked baggage, complimentary snacks and beverages, in-seat AC power, and USB and USB-C charging ports.)

“Springfield will be our first airport served in Illinois, and it’s joining the network with two great nonstop routes right from the jump,” Tom Doxey, Breeze Airways’ president, said in a statement provided “Breeze is all about adding service to underserved markets and city pairs, and we can’t wait to give the community of Springfield some new destinations with Breeze’s added convenience, affordability, and flexibility.”

To celebrate the new routes, Breeze is offering $49 one-way flights for travelers who book their tickets by 11:59 p.m. ET on Sept. 25 and fly by April 30, 2024.

With the addition of the new routes, Breeze will now launch 21 different routes to Florida from September through December. The airline, which was founded in 2021 by former JetBlue founder David Neeleman, has rapidly expanded since and recently announced new flights from both Portland, Maine, and Plattsburgh, New York, to Florida.

Neeleman has said the airline’s goal is to fly to places where other carriers don’t, choosing smaller airports and cities over major hubs. Currently, Breeze flies to 37 different cities across the country from coast to coast, according to the airline.
